The difference between spherical roller bearing and self-aligning ball bearings

The difference between spherical roller bearing and self-aligning ball bearings:

1. The shape of the rolling element is different: the rolling element of the spherical roller bearing is a convex cylindrical roller, while the rolling element of the self-aligning ball bearing is a spherical type.

2. Different load-bearing capacities: spherical roller bearings mainly bear large radial loads, but can also withstand bidirectional axial and combined loads, with a larger load-bearing capacity and a rated load ratio of 1.8-4.0. Self aligning ball bearings mainly bear radial loads and a small amount of axial loads, but cannot withstand pure axial loads, with a rated load ratio of 0.6 to 0.9.

3. Different usage environments: the load-bearing capacity of spherical roller bearing is greater than that of self-aligning ball bearings, and spherical roller bearing are suitable for low speed and heavy load conditions; Self aligning ball bearings are suitable for high-speed and light load conditions;

Selection factors for spherical roller bearing and self-aligning ball bearings:

1. Design space: refers to the external dimensions that allow the installation of bearings.

2. The size and direction of the load capacity: It can withstand large radial loads and can withstand bidirectional axial and combined loads. Spherical roller bearings can be selected. Capable of withstanding radial loads and a small amount of axial loads at high speeds, adjustable ball bearings can be selected.

3. Bearing working speed: spherical roller bearings are suitable for heavy loads, medium to low speeds, and self aligning ball bearings are suitable for light loads, high speeds. Self aligning roller bearings are suitable for heavy loads and medium speeds, while self aligning ball bearings are suitable for light loads and high speeds;

4. Rotation accuracy; P0 and P6 accuracy are selected for medium and low speeds, while P5, P4 or higher accuracy is selected for high speeds.

5. Installation and disassembly: When disassembling frequently,spherical roller bearing or self-aligning ball bearings with tapered holes on the inner ring and a locking sleeve or withdrawal sleeve can be selected.
